Keelings Knowledge

New multilingual website to help Keelings Knowledge target international clients

The Brief

Giant Elk were approached by Keelings to help develop a new multilingual website with a focus on SEO for Keelings Knowledge. Their old website was a dated one-pager scrolling website, with several secondary pages. At the project outset, Keelings was undergoing a rebrand and Keelings Knowledge was moving from their old brand of Keelings Solutions.

The Project

Communication

Their previous website did not clearly communicate their proposition or describe their solutions and it did not help target new customers in the Irish or overseas markets. We began the project with a series of workshops with the Keelings Knowledge team, to get a better understanding of their unique company and solution offerings. We went thought the complete end-client journey, from initial meeting, sales pitch and warehouse walkthrough to understand how their ERP-solution worked, and where the benefits were for the industry.

Complex Navigation

The project grew to 60+ pages/language, so having a clear site navigation was very important. The client looked to target 3 main industries, with their solution providing different benefits via a number of modules in each sector. We implemented strong use of icons, colours and images to ensure a user would not get lost across the various website sections. We also built on-page navigation to assist with the large dropdown menu we implemented. In addition to this, there are sticky “Request a demo” prompts on every page and footer so potential clients could easily get in touch.

Site Build

We developed a custom theme for the project to ensure the site would be easy to update, without any theme bloat. Page front-ends were created with a lightweight and easy to use page builder that would allow the client great control over page design and the ability to manager content themselves. We also built certain sections as global blocks, so they could be edited on one page with changes coming into effect across multiple pages, all within the visual page builder.

We implemented multilingual functionality with the base English version of the website being 60 pages. We carried out all content input for this and the other two languages (180 pages at launch) and also the input of the additional Mandarin content after launch.

The site was also built to the highest SEO standards and we implemented the clients SEO strategy across the site.

Training + Ongoing

We carried out an on-site workshop with the client’s marketing team on how to carry out page edits, add new pages and blogs, editing existing team, images and layouts.

We also worked with the client on redesigning all of their brochures in line with site content and design.
